Over the last several years, the technology that IT departments have been responsible for has migrated from under finance and other support purposes into the clinical environment. Simultaneously, medical equipment has evolved to incorporate and leverage traditional IT technologies, forming a bridge over what has perhaps been a present and widening - yet unforeseen - service gap.
